Last December 21st, Hawaiian Airlines announced on the eve of its first anniversary of service to Seoul, South Korea, the addition of 3 more flights per week to Seoul-Incheon, this would bring the total flights per week to daily. The new daily service would start July 16, 2012.
Hawaiian had previously introduced service on the route on January 12, 2011. When Hawaiian adds the daily flight, they will be adding more than 40,000 new seats annually, in total Hawaiian will be providing 96,000 seats between Seoul and Honolulu. Hawaiian will still operate the Seoul-Honolulu service using its wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 767-300ER aircraft that can accommodate 264 passengers in total, including 18 in Business Class and 246 in Economy Class. Still, Hawaiian plans on introducing its newest largest aircraft, the Airbus A330-200, which can seat 294 people, on the route at a later date.
Hawaiian's CEO, Mark Dunkerley, noted "Offering daily flights between Seoul and Honolulu has always been part of our growth plan. Demand among Korean travelers to vacation in Hawaii and for Hawaiian Airlines as a preferred carrier has been steadily building this past year and we are delighted to be expanding our service next July.”
Starting July 16, 2012 and subject to government's approval, Hawaiian's Flight # 460 will depart Seoul Incheon International Airport daily at 10:20 p.m, and arrive at Honolulu International Airport at 12:05 p.m the same day. The return Flight #459 will depart Honolulu daily at 11:45 a.m. and arrive at Incheon at 4:30 p.m the following day. (Seoul is 19 hours ahead of Honolulu; the flight crosses the International Dateline).
